About Reema Datta
Reema Datta is the founder of The Yogi’s Way® – a holistic method that weaves movement and breath with yoga’s original teachings on the mind, emotions, and consciousness. Her work supports students in cultivating clarity, vitality, and grounded empowerment.
A teacher and speaker based in Taos, New Mexico, Reema has dedicated her life to making the deeper dimensions of yoga accessible for modern life. She is the author of The Yogi’s Way: Transform Your Mind, Health, and Reality (New World Library, 2025), which brings ancient yogic wisdom into practical tools.
Reema offers a strong female voice in a traditionally male-led field, guiding students to release kleshas (destructive emotions) and awaken svadharma, their unique purpose.
Since 2002, she has led yoga and Ayurveda retreats in over 20 countries, working with luminaries such as Sting, Paul Simon, Edie Brickell, Sujatha Baliga, and Zainab Salbi, as well as global changemakers and students worldwide.
The Yogi’s Way® integrates movement, breathwork, mantra, meditation, visualization, and the wisdom of the original yoga texts, including the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and Yoga Sutras. Her signature HEAL YOURSELF NOW™ sequence is a cornerstone of this work.
Reema holds degrees from Vassar College and the London School of Economics and previously worked for the United Nations. She is also the co-author of Sacred Sanskrit Words for Yoga, Chant, and Meditation and has released mantra albums through Nettwerk Music. Reema is a certified Ashtanga yoga and Tibetan Heart Yoga instructor and an Ayurvedic therapist.
Raised in a family of yogis, Reema was immersed in Vedic wisdom from birth through her grandmother’s Ayurvedic wisdom, her grandfather’s Vedic scholarship, and her mother’s mantra singing.
Reema’s greatest teacher? Her strong, soulful teenage daughter.
