Meet Reema
Reema Datta is a yoga teacher, author, Ayurvedic therapist, and founder of The Yogi’s Way®. Raised in a family of yogis, she grew up immersed in India's Vedic traditions through her grandmother’s Ayurvedic healing, her grandfather’s Vedic scholarship, and her mother’s mantra singing.
Based in Taos, New Mexico, Reema has been teaching internationally since 2002. She shares an integrative approach to yoga that brings together movement, breath, meditation, philosophy, mantra, Ayurveda, ritual, and contemplative practice. She is devoted to making yoga's deeper wisdom accessible and relevant for modern life.
Reema is the author of The Yogi’s Way: Transform Your Mind, Health, and Reality (New World Library, 2025), a guide to applying ancient yogic wisdom as practical tools for greater clarity, resilience, joy, and inner freedom.
A Life Rooted in Yoga
Reema’s relationship with yoga began long before she became a teacher. From an early age, she came to understand yoga not simply as a physical practice, but as a living path of self-discovery and transformation.
Her formal studies have continued across more than two decades and include extensive training in yoga, meditation, philosophy, and Ayurveda. She trained as an Ayurvedic therapist in Mysore, India. Her understanding of Ayurveda continues to inform the way she approaches practice, healing, and the whole person.
Teaching Around the World
For more than two decades, Reema has led retreats, trainings, workshops, and mentorship programs throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and beyond. Her students have included artists, musicians, business leaders, changemakers, and people seeking healing and personal transformation.
Beyond the Mat
Before devoting herself fully to yoga, Reema earned degrees from Vassar College and the London School of Economics and worked at the United Nations in New York City.
Reema is also the co-author of Sacred Sanskrit Words and has released several mantra albums.
Above all, she believes yoga is not about becoming someone different. It is about remembering who we are meant to be, and cultivating the courage and energy to live with integrity.
When she isn't teaching, Reema loves spending time with her daughter, immersing herself in nature, and deepening the wisdom that shapes her own life and practice.
